Donors deserve to know how a gift is used, to see current financial statements, to speak with a real person, and to have their names removed from mailings on request.
Gift acceptance
A live organization would accept unrestricted and program restricted gifts, and would decline gifts that carry conditions conflicting with its mission.
Receipts and tax treatment
Written acknowledgment would be issued for every gift, noting the date, amount, and the value of any goods received in return.
Refunds
Mistaken or duplicate gifts would be refunded on request, typically within ten business days of verification.
Recurring gifts
Monthly giving can be paused, changed, or cancelled at any time with a single request, with no explanation required.
